Mothers meltdown:
Posting on this website broked down in early May - in (dis)honor of Mother’s day. Sincere apologies to readers. For background, see: Unsexed for Mother’s Day,
Beyond best health:
For all the miracle-like healings I’ve seen with herbs, Reiki, pressure points, and other stimulation of the body’s Life Force, the greatest healings for my own person in time of lethal crises have come from methods far simpler —yet far subtler. The most powerful healing processes are as far beyond words as they are beyond scalpels and prescriptions.
[ And yet today my demon or my angel calls me back to simple body facts when friend in distress has gallbladder attack. Undisciplined that I am, I can’t but pause and share the tricks that nix those stones. ]
Don’t tell me - show me:
So, what do you think of the Ten Commandments? Bloody annoying sometimes, wouldn’t you say? Real killjoys at any rate. But that’s off point for the moment. Here is the present curious problem curiously plaguing the Ten Commandments: despite being among the best known spiritual instructions on earth they are routinely ignored.
That’s the point here: commandments tell; they’re a prime example of attempting to teach (i.e., change human behavior) by telling. [Ross was wrong: here’s the source of that giant sucking sound.]
After a couple decades of spinning wheels attempting to facilitate students' (and my own) healing by telling, the unimpressive results (I now tell myself) show that we need a better way. Were I a Christ, a Gandhi, a Mother Theresa, my life would show the way, as theirs did. As a writer rather than a saint, it looks like showing rather than telling means transcending the didactic word.
“Hurray!” because my heart is past due to soar over the tedium of didactic writing. But, “Ohhhhhhhh, muh gawwwwwd!” my ego shrinks in despair. Writing that shows is totally beyond me. I can tell myself that I have to follow the great god Nike and “just do it” — but embracing the inevitable failures on the road to mastery... aye, there’s the rub. Tis most excellent that yoga explains that the skills we develop in the present life are not wasted, but contribute to future lives.
Dear Reader, will you please hang on? I’ve got a real page-turner coming out in about 300 years.
The sincerest flattery is following...
